In this lively, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to write and deliver an elevator speech and how to create an artist talk or presentation about your work. The ability to talk about your work to either one person or a crowd can ensure opportunities, connections and sales.

Learn 10 tips for giving an outstanding talk, how to rehearse (even for off-the-cuff talks), enjoy the limelight, manage a Question & Answer session, and connect with your public. You’ll leave the workshop with ideas for where you could be talking about your work right now and inspiration and practical tips for writing and delivering both your elevator speech and a more formal talk about your work. Come prepared to practice with a supportive coach and learn how to connect with and build your audience. 

Gigi Rosenberg won her first unofficial grant as a 14-year old when she convinced her parents to fork over the cash to buy 5 rolls of Super 8 Kodachrome film to shoot her first film. Today, she works in downtown Portland as a writer and artist coach. Her book, The Artist’s Guide to Grant Writing, is now in its second printing.
